Add AWS Route53 domain to EC2 Application Load Server

Step 1: Purchasing a domain in Route 53

Follow step 1 of guide for more information about purchasing a Route 53 domain name.

Step 2: Creating an Application Load Server

This guide assumes that an Application Load Server has already been provisioned. If that is not the case, follow steps 3 and 4 of guide.

Step 3: Adding a Record pointing to Application Load Server DNS name

Head over to the Route 53 service:

Click on Create record under the chosen domain name and Change to “Switch to wizard” as shown in blue on the top right in the image below.

Choose Simple routing.

Choose routing policy

Create a record as shown below. Remember to choose the right load balancer after inputting the region as shown in the dropdown below.
